Iraqi Interior Minister: No security incidents occurred during Arbaeen 2023

The Interior Minister of Iraq, and the head of the High Security Committee for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage said on Wednesday, September 6, that no security incident occurred during the Arbaeen period of 2023.

“The plan for this year’s Arbaeen was prepared early, and prior to that, security and intelligence operations were staged, focusing on the Governorates neighbouring Holy Karbala,” said Abdul Amir al-Shammari in a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Iraq held in the city of Karbala.

The Iraqi Interior Minister also noted that the army air force conducted several aerial reconnaissance operations during the days leading up to the Hosseini Arbaeen.
