On Tuesday, Iraq Parliament’s Services Committee convened a meeting under the chairmanship of Ali al-Hamidawi in order to review the preparations for the Euphrates River water release plan and the electricity supply needed for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

According to the Shia Waves reporter, attendees of the meeting, including the ministers of water and electricity resources of Iraq, discussed ways to release the water of the Euphrates River, and to secure optimal electricity supply to the provinces that receive pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

It should be mentioned that Ali al-Hamidawi, the head of the Parliament’s Services Committee, had previously asked the Iraqi Prime Minister to use all the necessary resources and facilities for the success of Arbaeen pilgrimage.

It is noteworthy that this important meeting took place after Misbah al-Hussein Foundation, a center affiliated to Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Iraq, requesting an increase in the share of water and availability of uninterrupted electricity supply in the holy city of Karbala and its neighboring provinces during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
