The Guardian: The Government’s policy against illegal immigrants is immoral
The British newspaper “The Guardian” has reviewed in its editorial the recent British plan to move political asylum seekers to a remote island.
The newspaper said that the Home Office is bound to fail as long as it has continued to treat refugees as criminals, noting that not to punish those refugees in the same way the left their countries, is a moral principle and is approved by the international law.
It added that the right to asylum is given to those those who flee their countries based on their needs; and they should not be judged based the illegal way they took. It explained that it has become necessary to treat these refugees as prisoners.
The Guardian has accused the British Government of manipulating this principle through its notorious “Immigration Bill”, the legislation through which the British PM, Rishi Sunak, plans to fulfill his pledge to stop boats carrying refugees from entering into the canal.
The newspaper stressed that this measure prevents the refugees from pursuing the right to asylum because of the illegal way they took to arrive, regardless of their credibility in doing so.
