A Replica of Karbala in India
In India and Pakistan the lovers of the Ahlulbayt often mark a piece of land and build a replica of Karbala for those who are unable to visit Karbala, Iraq.
The specific history of Karbala Munshi Muzzafar Ali is that he established Abbasi Nagar and built ‘Karbala’ on this piece of land.
However during the partition in 1947 many wealthy individuals fell into poverty and their buildings were left abandoned.
However, much recently some young individuals were made aware about ‘Karbala’ and on the 9th of Muharram held mourning ceremonies there.
On the 9th of August Shiekh Mustafa Ali khan Adeeb Al-Hindi recited the Majlis in honour of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). During this huge gathering, he appealed to all Momineen to join hands in visiting and contributing towards the restoration of Karbala.
If people continue to visit in the same way, Karbala will thrive, and its restoration will be possible Inshallah.
