UN: More than 20m Sudanese are experiencing acute food insecurity

The United Nations has said in a statement that the number of people experiencing acute food insecurity in Sidan nearly doubled.

The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said on Wednesday that, “More than 20.3 million people, 42% of the population, are experiencing high levels of food insecurity.”

It should be mentioned that the ongoing fight between the Sudanese government and the Rapid Support Forecs (RSF) has forced more than 4 million people out of their homes, exacerbating the humanitarian and security situation in the African nation.
