Iraqi PM meets Pakistan’s Minister of Interior to discuss mutual cooperation
The Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received on Wednesday Pakistan’s Minister of Interior Rana Thanaullah Khan and his accompanying delegation.
In a government statement received by Shia Waves Agency, Iraq’s PM, “Condemned the terrorist attack, which took place in the Bajaur region in Pakistan two days ago,” offering his “condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families, and the people of Pakistan.”
The statement added that the two sides “Discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the security field, exchanging intelligence information, cooperation in the fight against terrorism, drugs and organized crime.”
The meeting witnessed the review of cooperation plans in the field of religious tourism, and the facilities provided by the Iraqi government to visitors to the holy shrines in Iraq to participate in the commemoration of the Arabeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
For his part, the Pakistani minister conveyed his government’s appreciation and willingness to expand economic partnership with Iraq.
