Britain recognizes killing of Iraqi Izadis as ‘genocide’
The British government has identified the killing of Izadis by the extremist Sunnis of ISIS in Iraq in 2014 as “genocide” against this religious minority.
The British Foreign Ministry issued this statement on the eve of the 9th anniversary of the massacre of Izadis.
Izadis are a religious minority of Kurdish descent in northern Iraq, who were targeted for killing, forced migration, and widespread assault by ISIS terrorist group in 2014.
The British Deputy Foreign Minister said that the Izadi population suffered greatly from ISIS for 9 years, with ongoing consequences still affecting this minority.
