Hindu-Muslim Clashes in Haryana

At least 5 people have been killed in Hindu-Muslim clashes in India’s Haryana State, on Monday.

Amongst the 5 people two police personnel were also killed according to Reuters.

The tensions in India have been at an all time high with both Hindu’s and Muslims struggling to keep peace amongst each other.

In this particular instance the violence erupted when a Hindu procession was passing through a Muslim neighbourhood.

“The procession was meant to move from one temple to another but clashes broke out between two groups on the way, which resulted in the death of four people,” Krishan Kumar, spokesperson of Nuh police, told Reuters.

By Monday night, however, the situation got worse within the neighbouring Gurugram, where a mosque was torched around midnight, killing one person and injuring another.
