Nigeria: Shia followers of Ahlulbayt hold mourning ceremonies to commemorate Ashura
The loyal Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, in Nigeria, have continued to commemorate the rituals of Ashura by holding mourning ceremonies and processions.
The Nigerian mourners in the city of Kano raised the black banner of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, marking the beginning of the holy month of Muharram.
Although they are subjected to marginalization and organized attacks, the Shias of Ahlulbayt in various African countries continue to hold their mourning programs and ceremonies to commemorate the painful Ashura.
