Halal Cosmetics Boom in Asia-Pacific region: Embraced by Both Muslim and Non-Muslim Consumers
Halal cosmetics are experiencing rapid growth in the Asia-Pacific region, not only among Muslim consumers but also non-Muslims, according to a report from the retail insight network this week.
Halal-certified cosmetics companies like Rose All Day Cosmetics (RADC) in Indonesia have seen four times annual revenue growth in 2022. With the Muslim population accounting for 28% of Asia, halal claims are vital for success, especially in Muslim-majority countries where halal certification for cosmetics will be mandatory by 2026.
GlobalData’s survey reveals that 25% of respondents in the region consider products tailored to their culture important when making purchases. Local halal brands, catering to diverse skin tones and affordability, are driving demand, attracting investments from multinational companies like Unilever.
