Human rights activists demand security of Parachenar Shiites

Political leaders, religious scholars and human rights activists of Pakistan held a meeting in Islamabad to condemn the killing of Shiites in the “Parachanar” region, located on the border of Afghanistan.

The experts attending in this meeting, which was held ahead of the month of Muharram and the mourning of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), expressed their concern about the security conditions of the Shia majority in the “Parachanar” region.

The Shiites who live in Parachenar have been suffering from the lack of security in this area, especially in recent months. Residents of Parachenar have requested the government of Pakistan to provide security measures for Shiites during the days of mourning for Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the month of Muharram.
