China replaces Islamic, Arabic symbols in mosques with legendary dragon

Muslim activists announced today, Wednesday, that the Chinese government and the ruling Communist Party in this country have been deliberately removing all Islamic, Arabic symbols and Quran verses from the facades of mosques and their designs for years.

They stated in separate interviews with the Shia Waives Agency that: “The Chinese government has deliberately changed the appearance of Islamic mosques in the country and replaced them with Chinese symbols, including the legendary symbol of the dragon.”

The Chinese authorities claim that changing these signs and religious manifestations renders mosques ideal and harmonious with popular culture, while Muslims emphasize that “the issue is nothing but destruction of Islamic identity and Islamic symbols by the government and the Chinese Communist Party.”
