Baghdad – to – Karbala Road

The Senior Engineer Department in Holy Karbala has confirmed that construction work on the new road connecting Baghdad to the holy city of Karbala is continuing.

The director of the department, Wanas Faisal, said that project is mainly aimed at facilitating the movement of pilgrims, especially during the days of Husseini Arbaeen.

Faisal added that the road under construction is 10 kilometers long and is divided into 8 sections; each section has an independent group of technicians and employees.

He emphasized that the local government, represented by Karbala Governor, Eng. Nasayef Al-Khattabi, is working around the day to complete the project before the coming Arba’een Pilgrimage.
