Holy Shrines in Iraq covered in black to commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al-Jawad
The Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and his loyal brother, Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, have been covered in black with banners of sadness hung all over the sacred walls, in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammed Al-Jawad, peace be upon him.
According to up-to-date coverage of Shia Waves Agency of the martyrdom, the agency reported that holy shrines, husseiniyas and other holy sites have begun in Holy Karbala, Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf and Holy Kadhimiya to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Jawad on the 30th of Thul Qida.
It added that Shia communities in other countries have also started their mourning ceremonies and processions to mark this sorrowful event and to extend their heartfelt condolences to Imam Al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his honorable reappearance.
In Iraq, official departments of security and health have taken emergency procedures to secure the honorable pilgrims and to provide them with necessary services during the massive pilgrimage of Imam Al-Jawad, peace be upon him.
