Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: True Devotion to Ahl al-Bayt Requires Practical Action and Self-Reflection

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi emphasized that genuine affiliation with the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) requires more than religious knowledge and memorizing traditions; it must be reflected in a believer’s conduct, decisions and daily life.

In remarks on the meaning of loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), he highlighted Abu Dharr al-Ghifari as an example of steadfastness and sacrifice in upholding their authority. He urged believers to follow this example by developing a deeper understanding of faith rather than relying solely on verbal expressions of devotion or theoretical knowledge.

The religious authority also called on believers, particularly those involved in disseminating the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt, to examine how religious knowledge influences their behavior and choices. He stressed that lessons drawn from the lives of Imam Hussein and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) should inspire self-accountability, moral improvement and practical commitment.
