Lebanon: Beirut Husayniyya Holds Fatimid Mourning Gathering

Husayn ibn Ali Sayyid al-Shuhada Husayniyya in Beirut, Lebanon, held a mourning gathering commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), according to the second narration. The event was sponsored by the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi and attended by his representative, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Jalal Maash.

The programme included a speech by Sheikh Haidar Rizq on the Fatimid occasion, followed by elegies performed by reciter Muhammad Jawad al-Jabawi, recalling Lady Fatima’s suffering and the events following the passing of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). A number of believers and devotees of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) attended the gathering.

The mourning programme is scheduled to continue for another day, featuring a religious lecture by Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Maash. The events form part of activities organized under the Shirazi religious office in Lebanon to commemorate the Fatimid Days and promote the teachings and legacy of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
