Netherlands: Muslims Rally Outside Parliament Against Islamophobia, Discrimination
———————————-
Representatives of Muslim organizations and activists gathered outside the Dutch Parliament in The Hague to protest what they described as growing Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims in daily life, calling on authorities to take stronger measures to address the issue.

During the gathering, participants submitted a document titled “Statement Against Islamophobia” to members of parliament, outlining demands for greater protection against discrimination and hate, and urging more serious action against practices affecting Muslims’ rights.

Organizers said Muslims continue to face various forms of discrimination across different areas of society, arguing that certain policies, attitudes, and institutional practices contribute to negative stereotypes.

The participants referred to a national study conducted in 2025, which they said highlighted widespread experiences of discrimination among Muslims in different sectors of Dutch society.

They called on government institutions and political parties to adopt practical measures to combat Islamophobia, strengthen equality, and ensure that Muslims enjoy the same rights and freedoms as other citizens.

The protesters urged authorities to turn political commitments into concrete actions aimed at reducing discrimination and hate speech against Muslims.
