The Imam Shirazi World Foundation has urged governments and international organizations to pursue peaceful solutions to global conflicts through diplomacy, dialogue, and confidence-building measures, marking the International Day of Peace on September 21.
In a statement issued for the occasion, the Washington-based foundation described the day as an important opportunity to renew commitment to peace, tolerance, and respect for human dignity. It called for reducing reliance on military approaches and increasing diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes.
The foundation emphasized that sustainable peace requires respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, including what it described as the need to support political and social reforms and address the causes of instability.
The statement highlighted several international issues requiring diplomatic attention, including tensions between Iran and the United States, relations between the United States and Russia, the war in Ukraine, Saudi-Yemeni relations, and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
