The office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi in Madagascar has carried out a charitable initiative to distribute new clothing to elderly men and women in need in the city of Mahajanga.
The initiative was organized during the month of Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH as part of the office’s humanitarian and social activities aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and helping meet their basic needs.
The aid included gifts of new clothes for a number of elderly residents facing difficult circumstances, with the goal of providing support and easing some of the challenges they encounter in their daily lives.
The office stated that the initiative reflects the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, emphasizing the importance of caring for the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable members of society and providing assistance to those in need.
The campaign is part of ongoing charitable efforts by the Shirazi office in Madagascar to promote social solidarity, compassion, and support for vulnerable groups, particularly elderly people who may face hardship while preserving their dignity.
The initiative highlights the role of religious and community institutions in humanitarian work through direct assistance programs designed to serve those in need and strengthen values of cooperation and social care.
