Malaysia Allocates 4.6 Million Ringgit for the Development of 27 Islamic Educational Institutions

The Malaysian government has announced the allocation of an additional 4.6 million ringgit this year to develop the infrastructure and essential facilities of 27 Islamic educational institutions in the state of Penang.

Malaysian Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that the funds will be directed towards executing various development and maintenance works, including walls, fences, school buildings, kindergartens, as well as Quran memorization academies.

This amount represents an increase compared to the previous year, which saw an allocation of 2.11 million ringgit for carrying out development works in 11 Islamic educational institutions in the state.

He emphasized that the government will continue to focus on the needs of religious schools and Islamic educational institutions, aiming to improve their facilities and enhance the environment for religious education in the country.

In related developments, Anwar called for Islamic education to keep pace with modern technological advancements, including leveraging artificial intelligence in Quranic and Islamic studies, while emphasizing the importance of linking these technologies to ethical values and principles.

He also urged the expansion of religious programs, including Quranic lessons, reflection sessions, and lectures, to contribute to enhancing knowledge of Islamic teachings and consolidating their presence in society.
