Imam Hussein Media Group Concludes Extensive Media Coverage of Arbaeen Walk

The 12th annual Arbaeen Walk gathering, held under the theme “From Sea to Sacrifice”, began on Tuesday, 22 Muharram, in the Ras al-Bisha area of southern Basra Province, marking the start of the large-scale pilgrimage journey toward the holy city of Karbala.

This year, early groups of Arbaeen pilgrims began their journey earlier than previous years, with pilgrimage routes across different parts of Iraq witnessing an earlier start to the annual procession.

As in previous years, the Imam Hussein Media Group provided extensive live coverage of the Arbaeen pilgrimage walk in 1448 AH through its six television channels, broadcasting in five international languages to audiences around the world.

Throughout the pilgrimage season, the media group broadcast more than 16 hours of live coverage daily, enabling viewers to follow the various stages and events of the Arbaeen walk and stay connected with the movement of pilgrims along the routes leading to Karbala.

The month-long continuous coverage reflected the group’s efforts to provide comprehensive media reporting on the pilgrimage and respond to the growing interest of followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) worldwide. The broadcasts aimed to increase awareness of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and highlight the spiritual and humanitarian dimensions of the event.

The Arbaeen walk has become the world’s largest annual religious gatherings, with millions of pilgrims participating each year. Estimates of attendance vary, with figures ranging from 15 million to 30 million participants reported during recent years.
