Baghdad Municipality Intensifies Services Along “Ya Hussein” Route Ahead of Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The Baghdad Municipality has announced the intensification of service efforts along the “Ya Hussein” route as part of preparations for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), directing municipal departments located along the route to provide essential services for pilgrims and Husseini processions.

Ali Hassan Lafta, Deputy Mayor of Baghdad for Technical Affairs, said that municipal departments operating along the route have begun implementing a range of service measures aimed at supporting the movement of pilgrims and meeting their basic needs during the pilgrimage season.

He explained that the ongoing efforts include supplying drinking water and clean water for daily use, as well as increasing waste collection campaigns and cleaning streets and areas surrounding Husseini service processions. These measures aim to maintain smooth movement along the route and improve public services for pilgrims.

Lafta added that Baghdad Municipality has also prepared awareness programs targeting pilgrims and owners of Husseini processions, focusing on maintaining public cleanliness, conserving water consumption, and protecting the environment during the pilgrimage days.

The measures are part of broader preparations carried out by service institutions in Baghdad as the number of pilgrims traveling toward the holy city of Karbala continues to increase ahead of the Arbaeen commemoration.
