More Than 1,000 Volunteers Participate in First Aid and Guidance Plan for Arbaeen Pilgrims

The Social Development and Youth Rehabilitation Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein has launched its service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage through the Al-Warith Scouts Association, providing first aid and guidance services to pilgrims with the participation of more than 1,000 volunteers, scouts, and medical responders.

Department head Mohammed Al-Nasrawi said the plan includes the deployment of nine first-aid stations inside the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, including three main stations staffed by specialized medical teams, alongside additional support points operated by trained paramedics working around the clock to respond to emergency cases.

He added that 16 external first-aid stations have also been established around the shrine, covering the Old City and major pilgrimage routes with high visitor density to ensure rapid medical assistance and improve emergency response.

The service plan also includes the “Husseini Pilgrim Guide” program, which has established 11 guidance points around the shrine, intersections, and main streets. The program relies on updated electronic maps containing information on hotels, Hussainiyas, and service locations.

The initiative also involves translators and local volunteers from Karbala to assist pilgrims from different countries and provide guidance throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage season.
