Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi emphasized that walking to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) represents a renewal of commitment to the reformist mission for which the Master of Martyrs stood, reflecting the continued presence of Ashura’s principles in the consciousness of the Muslim community.

In a statement, the religious authority said that pilgrims heading to the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) recall the objectives of the Hussaini uprising and reaffirm their adherence to the values for which Imam Hussein sacrificed, particularly supporting truth, establishing justice and promoting reform.

Sayyed al-Shirazi noted that the millions of participants in the Arba’een pilgrimage symbolize a renewed pledge to the message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), demonstrating that the values of Ashura remain alive across generations.

He added that the continued observance of this religious occasion reflects believers’ enduring readiness to support justice and uphold the principles of the Hussaini movement, strengthening their faith identity and preserving the reformist message carried by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) for future generations.
