29th Dubai International Holy Quran Competition Opens with New Categories and Major Prizes

The 29th Dubai International Holy Quran Competition has officially opened under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Held under the slogan “In Search of the Most Beautiful Quran Reciter in the World,” the competition aims to expand its international reach and encourage leading Quran reciters and memorizers from around the world.
This edition introduces three main categories: males above 16, boys and girls under 16, and the International Quran Personality Award, which honors individuals or institutions that have made outstanding contributions to serving the Holy Quran and Quranic sciences.
A new public participation feature will allow selected reciters to lead prayers in major Dubai mosques during Ramadan before the public votes for the most beautiful recitation among the finalists.
Applications are open through the official website from July 7 to August 15, 2026. Applicants must submit an online form, passport copy, personal photo, and a three-minute video of their recitation.
Since its launch in 1997, the Dubai International Holy Quran Award has attracted thousands of participants from dozens of countries and has become one of the world’s leading Quran competitions.
