“Who is Hussain?” Launches Tree-Planting Campaign in Karachi to Mark Ashura

The global humanitarian organization “Who is Hussain?” has launched an environmental and charitable tree-planting campaign in Karachi, Pakistan, as part of activities commemorating the days of Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
The organization’s Pakistan team held a camp titled “A Tree in the Name of Hussein” at NED University in Karachi, where tree saplings were distributed to participants. The initiative aimed to promote tree planting, environmental protection, and the values embodied in the uprising of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
The event was attended by Ayatollah Sayyid Aqeel al-Gharavi, along with scholars, speakers, and Husseini reciters, who praised initiatives that combine community service with spreading the humanitarian message of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Organizers said the campaign is part of a wider series of humanitarian activities carried out by the organization in different countries. These projects seek to introduce the message of Imam Hussein through practical initiatives that serve people and society while reflecting the values of mercy, justice, and sacrifice.
The organization said tree-planting campaigns represent an extension of Imam Hussein’s message of preserving life and serving humanity. It expressed hope that the planted trees would remain a symbol of hope, resilience, environmental responsibility, and humanitarian action.
