Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine Completes Maintenance of Holy Grille Ahead of Muharram

The Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine has announced the completion of periodic maintenance work on the holy grille of the shrines of Imams Musa al-Kadhim and Muhammad al-Jawad, peace be upon them, as part of preparations for the month of Muharram and the arrival of pilgrims for religious commemorations.
The maintenance work was carried out under the direction of the shrine’s secretary-general, Dr. Haider Abdul Amir Mahdi. Specialized staff from the Technical and Craft Workshops Division, affiliated with the Department of Engineering Affairs and Strategic Projects, conducted polishing, detailed cleaning and technical upkeep of the holy grille.
The work included specialized treatment of the gold and silver sections, including polishing, comprehensive maintenance and the removal of oxidation and deposits caused by weather conditions. The shrine said the process was completed according to high technical and craftsmanship standards to preserve the beauty and brilliance of the holy grille.
The Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine said the maintenance forms part of its ongoing year-round service and technical programme to preserve the features of the holy sanctuary and present it in a manner befitting the status of the two Imams, peace be upon them.
The shrine added that the work also aims to provide a suitable spiritual atmosphere for pilgrims during major visitation seasons and religious occasions.
