Lebanon Reports Rising Casualties Since March Escalation
———————————————-
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has announced that the total number of casualties from ongoing Israeli military operations since early March has risen to 2,496 dead and 7,725 injured as of April 25, amid continued escalation and a worsening humanitarian situation.
According to the ministry’s Emergency Operations Center, the cumulative figures reflect the human toll of airstrikes and military actions targeting multiple areas across the country, particularly in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, where attacks have intensified in recent weeks.
The statement added that Lebanon’s healthcare sector is facing mounting pressure due to the increasing number of casualties, along with damage to medical facilities and health infrastructure, complicating efforts to respond to growing humanitarian needs.
Military operations in Lebanon are ongoing, with warnings of a deepening humanitarian crisis and a potential widening of the conflict. International calls have also been increasing for de-escalation, the protection of civilians, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected areas.
