Millions Participate in “No Kings” Protests Across the United States Against Trump Policies

Some 8 million Americans took to the streets nationwide in the “No Kings” protests, denouncing President Donald Trump’s policies and what organizers described as authoritarian overreach. The movement, which began in 2025 as a series of smaller demonstrations, has grown into one of the largest single-day political mobilizations in recent U.S. history.

The flagship rally in Minneapolis drew over 200,000 participants, according to organizers Indivisible, and featured speeches by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), and actress Jane Fonda.

Demonstrators in other cities, including New York, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Diego, and San Francisco, formed massive crowds and symbolic human signs calling for Trump’s removal and protesting immigration policies, military actions, and perceived abuses of executive power.

Organizers reported over 3,300 events nationwide and internationally, including smaller towns and international cities such as London and Madrid, emphasizing the movement’s broad reach. Protesters held signs declaring “No Kings” and called for respect for the Constitution and limits on executive authority. The demonstrations reflect widespread concern over economic issues, civil rights, and military tensions, particularly regarding Iran.

Authorities have downplayed the protests’ representativeness, while organizers emphasized the events as a crucial step in political mobilization ahead of upcoming elections.
