Human Rights Watch Warns Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Could Constitute War Crimes
——————————-
Human Rights Watch (HRW) has warned that continued arms supplies to Israel may expose supplier countries to potential complicity in serious violations in Lebanon. On Monday, the organization stated that Israeli airstrikes, expanding ground operations, and threats of forced displacement of civilians “could amount to war crimes.”
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that a recent Israeli strike targeting a motorcycle in the southern town of Majdel Selm killed one person and injured two others.
Security tensions have also risen along the border, with sirens sounding in the Israeli settlement of Hanita following warnings of rockets launched from Lebanon.
The strikes have further damaged infrastructure, including the destruction of the vital Al-Qasmiyeh bridge connecting the cities of Saida and Tyre, disrupting transportation and heightening fears of a broader escalation.
