At Least 20 Killed or Injured in Airstrikes by Rapid Support Forces in South Sudan

A Sudanese medical source reported on Wednesday that airstrikes by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Dalanj, southern Sudan, have killed and injured at least 20 people, including children.
According to the source, seven people—including three children—were killed, while 13 others were wounded in the drone strikes targeting the city in South Kordofan State.
The Sudan Doctors Network confirmed that among the injured were three women, noting that artillery attacks carried out by the RSF and its ally, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM-Hulu faction), struck residential areas.
Since October 2025, the three Kordofan states have experienced intense clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.
In a statement, the Sudan Doctors Network condemned the deliberate artillery strikes on civilian neighborhoods, which caused casualties and widespread panic. The organization warned that continued targeting of populated areas constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits attacks on civilians and residential zones.
