In Mashhad, tens of thousands of pilgrims gathered at the shrine of Imam Ali al-Ridha to commemorate the opening night of Laylat al-Qadr. The sacred site was filled with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, collective prayers, and spiritual lectures. Visitors participated in communal iftars, and many expressed their devotion through tears and heartfelt supplications, seeking mercy and forgiveness. The shrine’s organizers highlighted the night as “better than a thousand months,” emphasizing its spiritual significance and the role of Imam al-Ridha’s shrine as a sanctuary for the faithful.

Meanwhile, in Nasiriyah, hundreds of thousands of mourners took part in one of the largest Alawi mourning processions marking the martyrdom of Imam Ali. Men, women, and children marched through main streets, reciting elegies, striking their chests in lamentation, and displaying banners symbolizing loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt. Participants traveled from surrounding areas to join the procession, reaffirming their commitment to the teachings and path of Imam Ali (AS).

Simultaneously, the courtyard of Imam Ali Holy Shrine hosted multiple mourning and service tents, offering food, religious recitations, and devotional gatherings for pilgrims. Visitors from various countries joined the ceremonies, filling the sacred precincts with a profound spiritual atmosphere of grief, remembrance, and solidarity.

In Karachi, authorities have announced traffic arrangements and closures ahead of a planned procession marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) on March 11, reflecting preparations by Shia community groups for one of the major commemorative events of the religious calendar.
