The Islamic Council of Singapore has achieved a national milestone by being listed among the top 300 employers in the country’s Opportunities Index, a national ranking based on verified data that evaluates organizations offering outstanding work environments and genuine career development opportunities.
The inclusion reflects the Council’s success in building a modern administrative model that integrates its religious mission with advanced institutional standards. The Opportunities Index is the first of its kind in Singapore, analyzing data from approximately 1,500 organizations and nearly one million employees. It measures commitment to fair employment practices, professional development, salaries, job stability, and workplace equality.
Being recognized in this prestigious ranking demonstrates the Council’s ability to provide a stable and equitable work environment while investing in human capital, thereby enhancing its efficiency and sustaining service to the Muslim community.
Established in 1968, the Islamic Council of Singapore is the official body overseeing Islamic affairs in the country. Its responsibilities include supervising mosques, Islamic education, zakat and endowment management, and issuing halal certifications recognized nationally and internationally. The Council oversees more than 70 mosques across Singapore, manages Islamic schools, and supervises educational and religious programs, serving as a central institution for the nation’s Muslim minority.
The Council’s recognition highlights the capacity of Islamic institutions to achieve high standards of organizational excellence while fulfilling their religious and social missions, fostering sustainable community service, and offering professional growth and stability to employees.
