A young man was killed and two others were injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on Friday evening outside the Oldbury Mosque in the British city of Birmingham, following the end of prayers.
West Midlands Police announced that three young men were stabbed in the mosque’s parking lot, suggesting that the incident likely broke out after an argument at the site.
Police said that one of the injured, aged 18, later died from his wounds, while two others aged 19 and 22 were injured. They confirmed that the two survivors are in stable condition and that their injuries are not life-threatening.
Security authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident, noting that at this stage they are not treating the case as a racially or religiously motivated attack.
