Ayatollah Sayyid Hussein Shirazi Holds Series of Islamic Sociology Sessions During Ramadan
———————————
A series of scholarly sessions on Islamic sociology is being held in the holy city of Qom during the nights of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH, led by Ayatullah Sayyid Hussein Shirazi. The sessions are attended by a number of academic figures, seminary professors, and students of religious studies.

Ayatollah Sayyid Hussein Shirazi is the son of the senior religious authority Sayyid Sadiq al-Hosseini al-Shirazi. The sessions are conducted in a research-oriented academic environment and focus primarily on the study of Islamic sociology, drawing on the book Al-Ijtima‘ Al-Nazari.

The discussions address a range of core topics, including the definition and nature of society, the relationship between the individual and the community, and the foundations of social systems. They also examine the role of religious values and beliefs in shaping social structures, factors contributing to social cohesion or division, issues of social justice, leadership within a religious society, and the analysis of social deviations.

The organizers describe the lecture series as an opportunity to deepen theoretical engagement with Islamic sociology and to strengthen scholarly dialogue among seminary teachers and students, contributing to the development of contemporary social thought from an Islamic academic perspective.
