Tariq Rahman was officially sworn in as Prime Minister of Bangladesh, taking the oath before President Mohammad Shahabuddin, and assumed leadership of the country’s first elected government following the fall of Sheikh Hasina Wajed.

Rahman emphasized priorities including strengthening national security, bridging political divides, and revitalizing the industrial economy.

According to Agence France-Presse, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party secured a decisive victory with 212 parliamentary seats. Opposition parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami, have pledged to maintain peaceful and constructive positions in response to the election outcome.
