The Mosque and Hussainiya of Ale Yasin, affiliated with the office of the Supreme Marja in Sydney, has launched a Ramadan food basket distribution project to support orphaned and low-income families, as part of its charitable activities during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH.
According to organizers, the first phase of the initiative was implemented in Tehran, where food packages were delivered to needy households to help ease living pressures during Ramadan. The project is part of an ongoing humanitarian program aimed at expanding assistance to vulnerable communities in different regions.
Those overseeing the initiative said relief efforts will continue, with a second phase scheduled to be carried out in Lebanon in the coming period, extending support to families affected by difficult economic conditions there.
The project falls within the broader international humanitarian activities coordinated by the Ale Yasin Hussainiya, guided by the recommendations of senior religious authority Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi, who has repeatedly emphasized the importance of supporting poor and vulnerable families, particularly amid ongoing economic hardships in several countries.
