The FreeMuslim Organization has warned of a serious deterioration in the situation of minorities in Syria, particularly Kurdish civilians, citing an increase in reported abuses in northern regions of the country. The group said vulnerable communities are facing growing risks amid ongoing conflict and limited international protection.

In a statement seen by Shia Waves Agency, the organization said it is closely monitoring developments in northern Syria, where accounts indicate a rise in violations against civilians. It noted that ethnic and religious minorities are increasingly exposed to direct targeting, raising concerns over their safety and long-term security.

The organization said alleged violations against Kurdish civilians include unlawful killings, arbitrary detentions, and property seizures, describing such acts as breaches of international humanitarian law and universal human rights standards. It warned that continued abuses could further deepen divisions and damage Syria’s long-standing social diversity.

FreeMuslim Organization called for an immediate halt to violence in civilian areas and urged that minorities be kept outside political and military confrontations. It also appealed for international action to protect civilians, prevent forced demographic change, establish an independent investigative mechanism, and ensure humanitarian aid reaches affected populations without discrimination.
