US Universities Launch Workshop to Address Islamophobia on Campus

An educational initiative in the United States aims to help universities better address Islamophobia and bias affecting Arab and Muslim students. Islamic Networks Group has announced the launch of an interactive workshop designed for faculty members and administrative staff, focusing on building more inclusive and equitable academic environments.
The workshop provides participants with in-depth insight into the diversity of Arab and Muslim identities, alongside historical and contemporary contexts shaping their experiences in the US. It also examines common misconceptions within academic settings and offers practical guidance on how to recognize and challenge bias responsibly.
Using interactive training methods, the program includes real-world case studies and applied exercises to strengthen participants’ ability to support Arab and Muslim students in daily campus life. Particular attention is given to periods of political tension or social crisis, when discrimination and exclusion risks may increase.
Organisers say the initiative also seeks to encourage interfaith and intercultural dialogue within universities. By reinforcing institutional commitments to diversity and fairness, the workshop aims to ensure campuses remain safe, respectful spaces where all students can feel a sense of belonging and equal opportunity.
