Japan Successfully Launches RAISE-4 Technology Satellite
………
Japan has successfully launched the Rapid Innovative Technology Demonstration Satellite-4 (RAISE-4), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) said in a statement, Anadolu Agency reported.
The satellite was launched on Sunday aboard an Electron rocket operated by U.S.-based Rocket Lab from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. RAISE-4 was jointly developed by Japanese private companies, universities, and research institutions to test new space technologies in orbit.
Rocket Lab founder and Chief Executive Officer Peter Beck said the mission provided precise and reliable access to space for one of the world’s leading space agencies, supporting the growth of Japan’s aerospace sector. Previously, similar technology demonstration satellites were launched using Japan’s small Epsilon rockets, which suffered a failure in 2023.
