On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Non‑Violence Organization (FreeMuslim) reaffirmed the global and religious imperative to combat all forms of abuse and discrimination. The organization emphasized that protecting human dignity aligns with Islamic principles of justice, mercy, and respect for women’s rights.

In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, FreeMuslim stressed that Islam upholds the equality and dignity of men and women, citing Quranic guidance and Prophetic teachings that prohibit harm, abuse, and mistreatment. The organization highlighted the Sharia principle “no harm, no reciprocating harm,” rejecting physical, psychological, verbal, and economic violence.

The statement also underlined women’s central role in societal stability and development, asserting that their empowerment and protection are essential for social and economic progress. FreeMuslim called on governments and civil and religious institutions to enforce laws against abusers, ensure prompt and fair investigations, provide safe shelters, and promote education and awareness programs that foster respect, equality, and shared responsibility.

Concluding, the organization warned that violence against women contradicts Islam’s ethical and social objectives and threatened societal stability, emphasizing that collective action is required to guarantee safe and dignified lives for all women and girls.
