Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has detained four suspected militants in a covert operation in Karachi, accusing them of involvement in a series of sectarian-motivated targeted killings.

In a statement reported by Shia Waves Agency, the CTD said the suspects are linked to the banned extremist group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. One of the men, identified as Ameen — known by the alias Muna — is believed to be a key operative responsible for multiple assassinations and has previously been arrested in terrorism cases.

Investigators said the suspects have confessed to killing several police informants and local residents, including Adil Hussain and Shehbaz Khan, as part of sectarian attacks targeting members of the Shia community.

Authorities recovered four pistols and ammunition during the raid. Police added that the men have a history of criminal cases filed at various stations across Karachi.
