The daily scholarly session of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hussaini al-Shirazi was held on Thursday, the 23rd of Rabi’ al-Thani, 1447 A.H.

During the session, which, like previous gatherings, involved His Eminence answering various jurisprudential questions, the Supreme Marja addressed the primary source of Ziyarat Ashura.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stated that Ziyarat Ashura is a Hadith Qudsi (Divine Narration) and was first narrated as a tradition from Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him).

His Eminence further explained that Hadith Qudsi are narrations conveyed by the Immaculate Imams (peace be upon them) that originate from God Almighty but are not part of the Quran. He emphasized that Ziyarat Ashura is a prominent example of this category of hadith, highlighting its unique divine origin and revered status.
