French Council of Muslims Criticizes Controversial ‘Islamologist’

The French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM) issued a strong official statement criticizing French researcher Florence Bergeaud-Blackler, who identifies as an “Islamologist,” for her controversial remarks and alleged incompetence in understanding and translating the Arabic language.

According to the Shia Waves Agency (citing France 24), the CFCM highlighted that Bergeaud-Blackler had previously made conspiratorial and discriminatory statements against Muslims. Furthermore, she had controversially labelled the French Islamic Council itself as a “mafia.” The CFCM’s criticism focuses on what it perceives as her misleading scholarship and prejudiced views.
