Police in Liverpool are investigating a disturbing incident in which three Muslim girls, aged between 11 and 14, were threatened with scissors near the Abdullah Quilliam Mosque in the Kensington area on Saturday, October 4.

Merseyside Police said they received a report at around 1:50 p.m. that the girls were approached and threatened by a woman on Bowler Street as they were walking home from a religious class.
The girls managed to flee unharmed and sought refuge inside the mosque. Authorities also linked the attack to a separate incident involving an attempted assault with scissors against another woman shortly before the suspect fled the scene.

A 44-year-old woman from Liverpool was later arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on bail while being placed in hospital under the Mental Health Act. Imam Mumin Khan confirmed the girls had been returning from a lesson when the attacker approached them, prompting panic before police intervened.

Parents in the community expressed concern over safety, while the Arabs in Britain platform said the case reflects growing insecurity among Muslim women in the UK, urging stronger protection for mosques and surrounding areas and more responsible public discourse to prevent hate-fueled incidents.
