10th of Rabi al-Thani Commemorates Martyrdom Anniversary of Sayyida Fatimah al-Masoumah (peace be upon her)
——————————
The martyrdom of Sayyida Fatimah al-Masoumah (peace be upon her), revered as a scholar, narrator of hadith (muḥaddithah), and the noble benefactress (Karīmah) of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), is commemorated on the 10th of Rabī’ al-Thānī.
Sayyida Masoumah (peace be upon her) was martyred at the age of 28 after being poisoned by the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Her shrine in the holy city of Qom annually welcomes millions of pilgrims.
Following the passing of her father, she was raised under the guardianship of her elder brother, Imam Ali al-Rida (peace be upon him), and it was alongside him that she attained her high ranks in scholarship, hadith narration, and ethics. Sayyida Masoumah (peace be upon her) was one of the most prominent scientific and narrative figures among the Ahl al-Bayt, and her well-reasoned responses to the inquiries of the Shia community attest to her intellectual mastery and scholarly merit.
Her holy shrine in Qom serves not only as a pilgrimage site but also as a vital base for promoting the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt and strengthening religious awareness. Her spiritual status and power of intercession (shafā’ah) continue to hold profound influence and authority among the Shia faithful.
