Malaysia to Host First International Halal Tourism Fair in Kuala Lumpur
……………
Malaysia will host its first international Muslim-Friendly Tourism Fair (MFTF) on October 18–19 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, organized by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA). The event aims to spotlight the rapidly expanding halal tourism sector, both locally and globally.
According to MATTA, the exhibition will feature 115 booths representing licensed travel agencies, tour operators, accommodation providers, and cultural organizations. Exhibitors will showcase a wide range of destinations and services tailored to Muslim travelers, including family-friendly packages, luxury resorts with prayer facilities, cultural experiences, and special offers for Hajj and Umrah.
The fair seeks to provide a holistic experience for visitors, catering to those interested in spiritual journeys, leisure holidays, or culturally sensitive travel options. It will also be open to people from all backgrounds, reflecting the inclusive nature of the event.
Alongside the exhibition, a series of lectures, workshops, and panel discussions will explore key trends in halal tourism, such as halal food certification, prayer spaces at tourist attractions, and the role of cultural sensitivity in the travel industry.
By hosting the MFTF, Malaysia reaffirms its ambition to strengthen its position as a global leader in halal tourism and support one of the fastest-growing sectors in the travel industry. The fair will welcome the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days.
