The seventh Karbala International Children’s Book Fair opened in the area between the two holy shrines, bringing together local and regional publishers in an event running until October 2, 2025. Organized by the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the fair has grown into an annual cultural festival aimed at providing children with both educational and recreational experiences through books, creative activities, and interactive spaces.

According to the head of the Childhood Care and Development Department, Montadhar Al-Nasrawi, this year’s edition features over 47 publishing houses from ten countries, including Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. The fair serves as a regional platform for promoting children’s literature and cultural exchange.

Highlights include the first “Qalam” Arab Forum for Children’s Literature, with authors and illustrators discussing new trends in the field, as well as workshops, storytelling sessions, and daily competitions. Organizers emphasized the fair’s role in nurturing emotional and creative development in children while fostering a culture of reading among families.
