Japan Showcases Mobile Mosque to Support Muslim Communities
………………..

Muslims in areas without access to mosques—whether due to conflict, natural disasters, or lack of infrastructure—may soon have a solution through Japan’s Mobile Mosque project, ABNA24 reported. Developed by Yasu Project Co., Ltd., the initiative converts the cargo bed of a large truck into a fully equipped prayer space, complete with outdoor taps and washing stations for ablution.

One unit was recently demonstrated near Tokyo Tower, where worshippers performed prayers after using the onboard facilities. The mobile mosque can expand to 48 square meters, accommodating up to 50 people.

Yasu Project CEO Inoue Yasuharu said the innovation offers a peaceful prayer environment at disaster sites, public events, or regions lacking traditional mosques, with applications both in Japan and overseas.

Diplomats from Arab and Muslim countries in Tokyo welcomed the initiative, highlighting its global potential. A dedicated fund has been launched to support production, operations, and international expansion of the project.
