WHO Project in Lebanon Focuses on Heart Disease Management
——————————-
The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, has launched a project for the early detection and management of heart disease, the organization’s website reported.
The initiative aims to address cardiovascular diseases in the country by focusing on primary health care. The effort has already shown success in a case study involving Garo Hagop, a 64-year-old Beirut resident and former smoker who was diagnosed with hypertension with a blood pressure of 200/110 mmHg. The diagnosis was made during a visit to the Karagheusian Primary Health Care Centre in Burj Hammoud. The project highlights the importance of early detection and management in helping individuals like Mr. Hagop take control of their health.
